Mountain Women: Join Pirongia’s 2025 Women’s Rugby Team
Pirongia Women’s Rugby went from vision to reality in 2024 with a strong cohort of women from the surrounding area and Hamilton forming a team and playing in the Championship Division of the Waikato Women’s Competition.
In 2025 we will continue to play in this competition and have many players returning with a few new ladies joining the team. In 2025 the team will be known as the Mountain Women due to a strong connection with the Pirongia Maunga which can be seen from every part of the field. The Mountain Women are an energetic group of like-minded ladies always ready to challenge themselves on the field and enjoy life off it.
The area is well known for hard working salt of the earth people and the Mountain Women are no different hard work is the backbone on which this team thrives. If you are looking to join a women’s rugby team then come and join us under the great Maunga of Pirongia ….. we love our women’s rugby here.
